Gothic Bathroom Accessories

Updated on September 13, 2014

Gothic Toilet Brush Holder

This picture started my whole thinking process for this lens. My husband was looking through a catalog and when I seen this picture of the Skull Toilet Brush, I immediately thought WOW, that would make an interesting SQUIDOO LENS! My husband just looked at me and shook his head!

I happen to love Gothic Theme rooms. When I was single, I had a few my rooms decorated in a Gothic Theme and loved it! Everybody has a bathroom, right? Why not have it decorated with a Gothic Theme as well, especially during Halloween?

During my search for items to show in this lens, I also found some fantastic sites that sell Gothic Theme bathroom accessories. Of course you could go with the solid black, but adding a touch of electric blue, burgundy or blood red just adds a little more of a mystical feel to the interior décor

Gothic Style
Gothic decorating is a theme that is filled with history, mystery and beauty. I was doing a search for books about Gothic Decorating and seen this book which looked really interesting to me. This is the book review: The revival of Gothic style, which began in the eighteenth century, has been associated with a range of rationales that run from striking horror to reaching for the heavens. Mahoney, senior editor for House Beautiful, has produced an impressively illustrated survey of the Gothic style that starts with examples from the English landscape garden and ends with the "transformation" of Gothic in the U.S. since the Civil War. Individual chapters provide a brief history of each example and include information regarding the site's present condition and availability for viewing. Mahoney vividly describes the personalities of notable architects and designers, and her analysis is attuned to the irony inherent in this incredibly varied and sometimes complex aesthetic.

Decorating can be fun!

Well, where do I take this lens from here? Writing a lens on Gothic Bathroom Accessories is pretty interesting. Although, everyone has different taste, different beliefs and different views, the one thing everybody does have in common is the fact beauty is beauty.

I can honestly say for as long as I can remember, one of the reason I love Halloween is because of all the Halloween Theme Accessories. It is during the Halloween season we are able to purchase things some of us love because the stores are packed with it. People who loves this Theme will stock up on some of the items especially after Halloween when the sales break out. I do!! A gothic friend of mine who lived in California told me she stocked up on all of the scot towel she could find that had bats on it. I forgot how many rolls she ended up purchasing, but it was enough to last for a long time!

Sometimes you have to learn to compromise. I was lucky enough to find black flowers at Michaels Craft Store when I was looking for them. But what would have happened if I could not find any? I would have painted a white flower black by using a little acrylic paint and a paint brush, let them dry and you are set to go.

My whole bathroom was decorated in solid black except for one single red rose and that is how I mainly decorated my rooms. I would make the room a solid color and add a touch of a brighter color. Like the one single red rose in the bathroom. In my bedroom (yes, I had a lot of bats hanging) one of my bats had purple under his wings, so I added a couple of other purple things to the room. Decorating is really a lot of fun. By using your imagination you can create just about anything you want.

You also do not have to spend a fortune on items. I spent about $10.00 on the black nylon to drape over my black iron canopy bed frame from purchase it from Walmart. I have also bartered some of my homemade herbal products for a huge Gargoyle that stayed in my yard. I found some interesting things at Amazon, I think you will enjoy!

Shower Curtains-we all have them!
